Contemplating a Bath
by Dennis Plank
Not a lot of contemplation. Judging by the timer on my shots, it was in and splashing 33 seconds after this shot. I'm not sure what's going on with the hook at the end of this Robin's beak. I have shots at a more straight on angle and there's no misalignment between the mandibles. Anyhow, it seemed healthy enough.
7Dii, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f/8, 1/3200, iso 1000, aperture priority, pattern metering, no compensation. Processed in LR5 & CS6 where I removed a bright grass stem on the right side of the image that went from top to bottom of hte frame. Full frame. Taken July 8th at 8:55 am in our backyard.
Please take a look at the larger image for better detail.
I appreciate your comments on my last Herring Gull post and look forward to your input on this image.

Cool expression on thebird's face, but to me he's looking at the mirror surface and wondering what the heck is going on...
