This isn't exactly my forte, but we were camped near Trout Lake, Washington this spring and I couldn't resist a shot of the mountain with just a hint of light on it.

5Diii, 300mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, hand held, f/7.1, 1/2500, iso1600 aperture priority, pattern metering (completely un-landscape settings).  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Full frame.  Taken from Elk Meadows RV Park at 4:47 am on May 17th.

Thanks for looking,

Cool, Dennis.  I like the double layer of lenticular clouds above the mountain catching the light with the snow covered mountain at the bottom.  The glow on the bottoms of the clouds is a neat low sun angle effect.  (In case you don't know, lenticular clouds are created by mountains as they cause the flowing air to rise above the condensation point, creating lens like clouds that sit overtop of a high mountain.  The Cascade volcanos are famous for this effect.)

Dennis, I really like the layers of light here, but more attracted to the lower level and it's a bit unique look. This is where a long lens has done an excellent job with a "landscape" type image........very nice. cool

I really like the cloud cap on the mountain peak and the subtle colors showing through.

Love the clouds with the warm reflected light, Dennis.  The blue shadows are a bit over saturated for my taste but the overall effect is very nice.
