Fall Flora

No reason to stop shooting flora just because the flowers are gone. This is an image of autumn colored azalea leaves. I shot this into full morning sun filtered by maple trees. I used minimum dof to minimize bg contrast and emphasize softness. I tried to maintain a bright yellow "sun" area for mood, but let me know if its too bright. Azaleas, Fellows Riverside Gardens, Youngstown. D600, 150 macro, iso 200, 1/400, 3.3, hh. Suggestions, questions, thoughts, and other comments welcome. crying

Not too bright for me.  I really like the bright, colorful BG, it works very well.  Nice choice of foliage to shoot also.  My one issue is that the focus is hard to pick out and decide where my eyes should go first.

Like the subtle, muted colors, the composition and subject..  Different than the norm and in this case it really works for me.

Scott, I don't think it is too bright; more just right. The muted colors of the leaves works for me as well. I agree with Nathan's analysis. Perhaps a crop from the bottom to a 4:5 might bring the focus area more into, well, focus?cool

<div>really fine the wanted weak saturation and the general softness of tones. OK IMHO also the little DOF, pleasurable background.
I like it!
All the best,

Scott: The sudued color palette on this is wonderful and I like the BG a lot. Well seen and superbly captured.
