Found this hawk in Yellowstone's Lamar Valley. The image is a little busy, but I really couldn't do much about it. I am not sure of the species. Feel free to weigh in. Processed using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC 2014. Comments and critiques welcome.

Looks like it's wedged between the branches cool... A nice image, showing how we encounter many species ! Sorry that I cannot help with the ID... Happy weekend, hans

My guess is it's a Coopers hawk, maybe a Sharp Shinned hawk. Typical habitat for these guy's. Nice job spotting it. enlightened

One mean looking Hombre Jerry. Not certain of the species either- but you shoot them where you find them and this is presented well considering the "ambush site" this bird chose.

Pretty certain you've got an older, fledgling Cooper's Hawk --- judging from the blue eyes and tear drop breast feathers. You captured their environment nicely. Some might comment on the lack of space beneath the tail. I liked the lighting and shadows.

Nice job finding a relatively clear angle, Jerry.  Was this a large crop?  There seems to be significant quality loss in  the larger image.
