Canon 1D-X, 500mm x 1.4TC, tripod
f5.6, 1640, ISO200

Lots of Hooded Mergansers in Boise this fall. My first attempt at flight shots of these handsome birds.

75% of full frame. Adjustments to Levels and selective sharpening to birds.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Nice, Jim.  I like the light and tyhe relative positions of the birds in the frame.  I'm sure it's just the angle with the soreline, but I think a bit of ccw rotation would make this image work even better.

One merg in flight is hard enough - two at once is really pushing it. I have nothing lie tihs in my files.

Nice to get them both in frame Jim-really fast birds for sure. I agree with Dennis about the slight CCW rotation.

Nice job getting the pair Jim...they are very fast. I agree about the shoreline making it look not leveled when I am sure it is. I think if you rotate it enough CCW, you might even be able to crop off the shoreline altogether.
