Jim:

I think you have a nice image here.  Pleasant enough environment that doesn't distract from the sparrow.  I think the image is too bright as presented and lacks contrast.  Here's a version with a TK Lights Mask, Curves adjustment layer using the multiply blend mode and just a touch of contrast in the curve itself.  Opacity of the layer then reduced to 70%.

See what you think.

Good capture, Jim. Keith's adjusted re-post has the advantage of bringing out a little more detail in the breast as well.

Jim,
Keith's re-post has brought out a lot more detail, of a really nice image with beautifully muted backgrounddevil

Nice pose and head turn, Jim.  I'd be tempted too take a bit more off the top to eliminate that oof horizontal twig, but I'm also seeing some image degradation from the crop in your larger image, so you might not have the image quality to push it further.  Keith's treatment has made a significant improvement.

Very nice soft and muted colors in the background, excellent detail on the sparrow. Very pleasing shot. Ray

Very sweet and nice placement of the bird.  Somehow I really like the broken leaves too.
