Tumwater Falls

I didn't have anything lying around for this one and we had a break in our heavy rains yesterday, so I headed for a local waterfall famous for its association with a defunct brewery (bought out and shut down by one of the big guys).  The water flow was pretty amazing with all the rain we've had.  The unfortunate part is that it's an urban area, so chain link fences and buildings are usually part of the background.  The bridge in this is the lower of two pedestrian bridges and is just below the lowest of the three falls.

There's another falls south of here a ways that should have some good opportunities, but last I heard the road to that area had some flooding.  Maybe I'll be able to get out there before the week's over.

5D3, 28-70 f/2.8L @ 29mm, tripod, f/22, 1/5sec, iso 200, aperture priority, pattern metering, +1 1/3 stop compensation.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Full frame.

Thanks for looking,

Dennis,  It's a novel (to me at least) and interesting approach to including a bridge.  I like the scattered fall leaves on the bridge and it's strong linearity makes a good contrast to all of the motion in the water.  The larger view shows some good action in the water, especially where it's going under the bridge.

Originally: "Quality first; Quantity next"; then added: "It's the Water". Your photo has quality, quanity, and it is the water provides that quality and quantity. I suppose now the motto should be:  "It was the water".

Very nice and out of the box Dennis. This is a cool perspective. I am planning to go there tomorrow weather permitting.  I need a break from trying to shoot wet hummingbirds.

Nice work with the flowing water.  Maybe a bit more of the bridge showing if possible?  Was my favorite processed water product, very displeased when it was shut down.  Thanks for sharing.

That's some powerful water.  I like all the details you can see in the water - nice work pulling that out.  I too might like to see just a bit more of the bridge.
