Blue Morpho

Blue Morpho on Chocolate Plant ‘Black Varnish’. There were distracting leaves/twigs on the left side, hence this composition. I cloned out some white water-spot marks on the leaves.

D90, 105mm, f/8, 1/125, ISO 400, handheld, original frame. Butterfly house shot. April 2015.

Yun, rremarkable how you were able to get this black and blue BF on a plant with virtually no color. At first, I thought you had desaturated all color but the blue for artisitic purposes. Extraordinary!

Morphos are a tough butterfly to photograph. The dark leaves work well with the metallic blues of the morpho......................Jim

Yun, you have made a wonderful image of the butterfly on the chocoloate coloured leaves. I too, initially thought that is was color corrected. Beautiful piece of work.

Quite the catch with the Morpho on the black leaves, Yun. These bf's are very striking and the black textures background lets it stand out.

The dark leaves make a perfect bg for this butterfly, Yun. Just enough contrast between the black edgingon the wings and the leaves to make the butterfly still stand out nicely. Well done.

Lovely colors and detail, Yun. The butterfly almost morphs into the plant leaf itself. There is an odd curl to the left wing that distracts me at first, but then it fascinates me as it makes the wing look like a curled leaf. Very nicely done here.
