Silver Fox

I dont' beleive I ever posted images of this beautiful fox from my visit to the San Juan Islands back in April. This little silver fox was stunning and unfortunately I only got to spend a few moments with him before he sauntered back across the street right in front of me and off into the woods. The lighting hurt me a bit here and the eyes are not too visible - but I'll be posting a series of this fox and most of the other ones the eyes show much better

Well that's simply too cool of a find, Luke! Love the dandelion(?) seeds in its ear. Great natural setting and you did a great job with the difficult light. I like him surrounded in green with the purple blossoms for garnish. Highly jealous of this encounter you had, even if it was too short!

Thanks for sharing, Luke. The coloration on those San Juan foxes is really interesting. This looks like a true silver fox, versus the typical cross fox we normally see. I know they also have brown foxes up there that I'd love to get up and photograph some day.

Definitely tough light, but you handled it well. And, the detail on the fox as shown on the larger version is definitely worth a look! Like the others I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more...
