Time for a Lion?

I am pretty certain I have never seen a Lion roaring whilst moving, but this is one. He is one of the Males of the Marsh Pride in Savute, Botswana.
Along with his pride he was rather half heartedly chasing off a female presumably from another pride.

What a magnificent beast. His placement, the light, his surroundings and best of all his roaring make this a really fine image.

Really sweet light. The action of the lion is nice but the light is awesome. Great image from a very simple composition.

Good composition. Great light and action. Maybe cropping in on the lion a little bit would make more of an impact? Or perhaps you wanted to show the animal in its environment? Either way, outstanding natural behavior image. :)

Hey Ken,

Nicely done - very nice light and timed to perfection. Definitely one of my favourite of your posts.

Cheers...

I, too, would rank this as one of your top images.  The dramatic angle of warm lighting adds fine artistic effect.
