A real privilege to have the opportunity in photographing both Mum & this baby calf in the early morning. Mum was very relaxed, but 'junior' was quite inquisitive, got to love the grass in the mouth.

Thanks to those who viewed or posted a comment on the previous thread.

Steve,

I like the blurred foreground, the ears that are facing towards the viewer indicating alert, and of course the gras in the mouth.

Well done devil

Steve: you've captured appealing light, a good pose (especially so with the grass in the mouth) and detail. The portrait orientation was a good choice. Cheers folks, these guys need all of our help to ensure we can ALL appreciate them and not just in books or photos.

Cay-Uwe, no blur applied, just all down to DoF.

Richard, just had to wait a few moments for him to pop his head up, the grass was a nice bonus.

Thanks Ingrid.

Hey Steve,

This one brought a smile to my face. Cute in a "baby hippo" sort of way (or I guess a "baby rhino" sort of way). Good light, good detail, and a very pleasing (and harmonious) colour palette. Works for me!

Cheers...
