The old frame

Yesterday I spent some time looking for birds, eagles, owls, whatever.  Came up empty and we had just enough time to go down to a local dock for sunset.  It's a pretty popular place and I was looking for a different type of image.  I tightroped out on an old wooden breakwater for a different perspective and on my way back noticed some boards missing from the breakwater and thought I would give this a try.  Now, I didn't have a tripod and relied on the pray and spray method, but I think I got away with it here.  Would love some feedback so I can improve on it with the right equipment/setup

Pretty steady for 1/4s, Luke. You really scored...a great soft sunset, with some very attractive cloud cover and colors, interesting foreground soft reflections, all happening intheright location for your perspective. You might consider removing some of the white spots along the low edge of the frame. Wow, I just clicked the larger image (which is actually smaller for some weird reason) and it has a lot more clarity and focus. The wood grain really enhances the image and the slight angle to capture the gray edge of the pylon provides a great sense of depth. Very nice detail. Well done.

I think the composition works well, and the dark wood patterns do look like an old frame. It does lack sharpness, but it does not look camera shake.

Great POVblushI might have cut the middle out and cropped off a good bit of the seaweed and some of the sky, then put it back into the fence "frame".  Just a thought.

Luke,
a really cool image.  I like the subtle wood grain showing through.

Luke, I wish I could see this at the LARGER version......enlightened, but I'm sure you understand at this point why not......sad

This is very nice indeed. For as dark as everything is with the sun basically down, this came out well enough to see what is taking place overall. Nice idea and image.
