The Dangerous Selfie
by Patrick O'Healy
August 22, 2015 at Bryce Canyon Sunrise Point, Utah. While it is a wonderful location to set up an shoot, I was aware of the cracks in the rocks and the fact that over time they do erode and dislodge. The ledge is very narrow next to the tree, and you must step over the roots, one of which is visible in the lower left corner, to get out to the point. This fellow peered over the edge with his wife close behind him, and on the way back stopped to rig his iPhone and took a selfie. Afraid of heights, I would never climb out on this narrow perch hundreds of feet above the canyon floor and my bad knee caused me to have over abundant caution.

Where as you it is a bad knee, with me it was a broken ankle that never healed right. As well as extreme fear of heights also.
