Moods of November 5

With it being the last day of November I decided to post one more picture of the November Moods series. I hadn't really planned on it but with freezing rain and a thin misty coating of icy snow I thought maybe I would. I made this in the pine forest close to my home which is a place I like to go to in conditions like this. Thanks for looking! Nick

This is really sweet, Nick. I love the trees and their spots of lichen. I also like the vaiations in tone across the image. Very mystical and well done!

The atmosphere and bare trees create a very moody image, Nick. Excellent use of the photogenic conditions.

This is great Nick.  I love the tonal range and misty atmosphere.  Definitely dripping with November moodiness.

Beautifully seen and captured Nick!  If this doesn't express the mood of November, I can't think what else might.

Not sure if anyone else will mention, but I will, but that one big blob of lichen that is twice the size of it's nearest competitor, is a big eye magnet for me.  But I can't decide if it's a distraction or an anchor.... It belongs because clearly the pattern of lichen is repeated throughout the scene.  My eye keeps going back there and I can't decide.

Regardless, the image most certainly speaks of mood.  Well done!

I like this composition very much. It takes me a while to understand what is going on and getting into the picture, but then it becomes truly beautiful!

Like mentioned before the lichen spot just freezes my eye on first look. When I force myself to look around I like the rest of the image and the silent mood it conveys.

I too noticed the lichen right away, but I really like it! Then again, I am a hopeless lichenophile, so what do I know.... Once again you captured some nice moody stuff, nice!

Hi Nick,
I really like this. Your desire was to capture "moodiness". I'd say you nailed it.

I like the misty atmosphere and the repeated verticals. The spots of lichen I have to say seem to break up the scene in a somehwat distracting manner ofr me.
