Repost Below of Alvord Desert Tracks

Here is another in my series of black and white images I'm working on as I whittle things down to create a b/w portfolio.  As always, I am eager for any feedback on whether the image is working, why or why not, and especially specific suggestions on composition and contrast. I place this here due to the prominent tracks (and a distant structure).

The leading lines breaking up the familiar Alvord patterns makes this different. The composition and conversion work great for me.

Excellent job capturing the feel of the place, Marylynne.  I like the way the tracks work.  To my eye, the intensely dark foreground clouds seem a little overdone.   I like the balance of land and sky.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.  I wasn't sure whether the overdone cloud was the one on the left or the wispy one on the right.  Here is another take: Conversion in LR only this time.

Let me know if you like it better.  I got some noise the first time in the compression, so hopefully this one is better.

I like your repost best Marylynne.  The sky is a little bit more subtle allowing the viewer to focus their attention on the patterns on the desert floor.

Very nice Marilynn. I love this place. I shot an almost identical image this summer. The sky above the clouds seems a tad too dark for me.

Actually it looks improved in the repost.
