Here's one from last spring's Whooping Crane/Texas workshop.  We photographed this bird and a few of his family group on my friend's property in Lamar, TX.
Canon 5D3 500F4 1/1600 F5.6, iso 800, taken from vehicle window.

Sweet light and excellent detail in the whites, Nate.  I like the head turn and the one wing pose is unique.

A privilege to see one of these. Not only are they a rarity, but hopefully making a slow comeback from the edge of extinction, starting with a low of 16 birds in 1941 to a current population of 603 at the first of the year. A unique pose with good techs. You are very fortunate, Nate.

Looks like a "Bow to Your Partner" moment.  Excellent.  Outstanding.

Nate,

the pose is very nice, like dancing. I also like the good eye contact and the light conditions.

Like the pose and the "knocked knees" -- good job on the whites

A fun sweet pose you captured of this rare crane Nate!

I am glad to notice that not all the Whoopers have leg bands.
