After catching the sunrise at Otter Cliff Mike and I made our way over to the Tarn to catch the reflection of the autumn foliage as it was lit up by the rising sun striking the flanks of Dorr Mountain.

As always thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment or suggestion.

Beautiful capture Ed.  Wonderful subject matter and nice composition, and I love the reflected color as well as the variation from warm to cool in the colors.

Ed,
Superb capture. Love the textures in the background grasses. Has a beautiful, impressionistic, painterly feel. No nits.

Very creative work Ed!  The grasses look particularly nice, creating that painterly look Dave mentioned.

This is very nice, Ed.  Love the colors in the fore and the soft, subtle color of the grasses as they fade into distance.  Really peaceful.

This is a nice grass shot.  The muted colors of the BG grass are well set off by the wonderful light in the reflection.  The transitional border of the deeper green works very well.  Very nice peaceful feeling in this image.

Ed,

very nice done, I like the forground colors as reflections very much and the moody sense the image has.

Wow Ed, the thumb and first glace really threw me.  I did not recognize this as a reflection at first. I thought it was a see of really blurry, wind-blown grasses.  Now that I know what's going on I can see it's the reflected trees causing the effect for me.  Even as I figured this out, I knew that I was really enjoying this image.  Great color, reflections and the grasses/reeds that fade off to infinity complete the image.  Love it.

Very pleasing comp, Ed.  The marsh grasses and lily pads combined with the fall color reflections set this off nicely.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone; much appreciated. Sorry about a larger version not loading. I do not know what happened as I uploaded a 1200 pixel wide version.

Those sombre grasses are a nice contrast to the really warm and vivid reflection. Nice!

Love the color contrast between the reflection and the grasses, Ed.  You've got a fine mix of drama (with the colors) and subtlety with the grass clumps.  Well seen.

Ed, This is really nice! I enjoy this type of image with a quiet peaceful mood so much and this one is truly that! I'm sure seeing a larger version would be very impressive. devil

Beautiful colors with the subdued grasses and bright reflections. An unusual combination, and very well done.

Hi Ed,

This image really does it for myself with the wonderful punch of color in the foreground. The foreground leads into the subtle browns of the grasses, and the two elements are beautiful together. I really like how the grasses are displayed to be never ending.

Wonderful image

Lovely, and very impressionistic.  I too was thrown initially until I figured out the reflection.  The one bit of reflection that rises up through the grasses on the right side distracts me a little...looked like a bad clone job, but I know it's not.  Not sure how you feel about cloning it out (yes, irony there) so it doesn't look cloned.
