Gooseberry Falls WC 715

This is a picture I made at Gooseberry Falls on the north shore of Lake Superior in northern Minnesota. I shot it in the early morning light before anybody else was around and quite enjoyed it. I had time to myself so I could work on a few different comps and liked this one the best. The Gooseberry River flows into Lake Superior just a short distance from here. One of my favorite images that I have made at gooseberry Falls. Check the larger version for best look.
5D3, 24-105L @60mm, ISO 100, F/8 and 0.6 sec.

Great composition and, for me, perfect shuuter speed. I like the dark rocks behind the brighter water.

This Weekly Challenge is drawing some of the best darn photos, and this is one of the best, in my opinion.

Nice to see your post here in this WC theme, Nick. The unending cascades are wonderful to look at. The mixture of white water against the darker rock formation screams out contrast at it's best....... laugh

I have been to the falls several times, but I do not recall seeing an image as fine as this one! Well taken. It is fun to be there when there no others around. Thanks for sharing.

You've got a fine sense of flow in the falls, Nick. I'm also really enjoying all of the small steps and tendrils of water. It's easy to see why you like this. Oh yeah, welcome to the WC (at least under my tenure).

My first reaction to this image was "Perfect Shutter Speed", looks like I am not alone, the lighting is also very sweet.

What a pleasing and gorgeous shot. I could look at this all day. The comp is perfect, the shutter speed is perfect, let's see what else could be perfect? Well-deserved weekly pick and your best photo of 2015.
