Full Stride
by Jerry Marella
A while ago I posted a photo of Phoebe diving into a pond. This is Ruby, a new rescue that my son picked up from an abandon house a month or so ago. After a hand full of trips to the vet for fleas, worms, skin conditions, and spaying, she is doing great. She's gained a little weight and is no longer a walking rib cage. This is her first trip out to the ranch where she can run free and not worry about traffic or other stray dogs attacking her. When we have both Phoebe and Ruby out it's complete mayhem. We think she's less than a year old, and we're not sure if she's already had a litter or not. Anyway, we had a fun week watching her stretch out and have fun.

6 commentsThanks for joining in on the fun here in the new Man & Fauna Gallery. Great action shot of Ruby - you definitely froze the action nicely and great timing in catching her so stretched out. Nicely done!
While some may argue you could have opened the aperture up slightly to throw the background more out-of-focus, the reality is that there is NOTHING distracting back there in the background and the strong contrasting colour of Ruby against the green grass provides great isolation of the subject (exactly as shot).
Cheers and thanks again for posting this shot.

great action and a nice story that fits very well in this new gallery, since it shows that humas have to take care about animals and have therefore a responsability for them.
