Excellent dof to get both elk in such crisp focus, Floyd. I like the two different head angles, though I wish they'd been more cooperative and given you a touch of separation between their antlers.

Hi Floyd,
Nicely done! The overall palette works well for me and you have nice separation of the subjects from the background. I THINK on this one I wouldn't mind a looser crop (as an alternate), but as presented it works well.
I just did a quick bit of research on the San Luis NWR but didn't see anything indicating if it is a fenced facility or not. If it isn't fenced (and these elk aren't "captive") this image could also be posted in the Wildlife Gallery (but it's totally fine to post it here).
Cheers...
Brad

Thanks Brad. San Luis NWR has a fenced inclousure for the elk.

Good color and details. I like the position of the elk, but wish there was more seperation between their antlers. Thanks for sharing.

Floyd,
I like the monochromatic color palette of the image and my only wish would be to have a bit more separation of the antlers. Other then taht technically very well done also.
Just an overall comment, it would be great if in the post the description would include a bit more details about the location.

Nicely captured, Floyd. I like how your processing emphasizes the elk against a muted surrounding.
