Wide Angle at the Bosque

There are many images here on NPN from Bosque Del Apache.  Some great work to be sure.  Most are with longer lenses (not all, just most).

Here's a different take on the refuge.  The Snow geese lifting from one of the ponds with a wider view.

Excellent take-off shot, Keith.  I like the broad perspective.  The wisps of cloud in the bg really help give some extra pizazz to the flock of geese.

Big version is pretty cool!  The wide angle shot is very nice with lots of crisp contrast.  I agree with Dennis on the cloud's positive impact for the composition...............................Jim

This is great.  I've always liked wide angles of blast-offs.  Just froma different perspective standpoint.  Well done.

From the thumb, I was thinking lots of stars in a blue sky????  This is an terrific collection of birds in flight with some fine color in the grass and a beatiful blue sky, Keith.

This works for me because you waited long enough to get birds in almost every bit of the sky, instead of shooting too early and having major gaps.

I like this view and the crispness in the image.  We get a dozen or so snow geese at Nisqually NWR each winter but if I wanted to duplicate this it would be with Canada Geese and their cousins.  We have about that many here year round.

What an impressive picture, presenting the awesome number of geese at this location.  Nature at its best.

Keith,

nice to see a different aproach to bird photography and as you say often one forgets to make pictures like that.

Keith, I've just been staring at this one for a while. Talk about telling a story with a single photo... you nailed it. Everything works here from the blue sky to the great light to the sky filled with birds. devil

Really nice WA work, Keith, and good to see so many birds well placed in the frame.  Looks like you're making good use of that 16-35.
