Winter Harbor Light 2015

This challenge was custom made for me!  My biggest problem is deciding which photos to post.

This one is my most recent winter scenes that has man made structures (lots of them).  In Valdez, Alaska on a sunny winter day, the snow covered South Mountains make like huge reflectors.  Everything down low is in the shadow of the North side mountains so most of the lighting, as here in the harbor, is indirect.

You'll get a lot more presence and detail when you view the large version.

Gary, a both chilly and inviting look at this scene.  I sure do like all the details in the boats and the clarity in the subtle reflection.  In the larger view, the three spots of color (rusty sides, orange container and red building add some extra interest.

I like the color and crispness of this image.  Fine composition leading to beautiful mountains.

Nice one, Gary.  I like the boat you chose to feature.  It sounds like an interesting lighting situation.
