The day was coming to a close, when we sited this majestic bird.  One goal on this trip was to see and photograph eagles.  Taken from a boat.

Majestic bird indeed.  Nice head turn.  I'm not a fan of the B&W with the yellow eye.  I think the image would be much stronger as a pure B&W.

Nice pose in the eagle and I like the B&W treatment, Elizabeth.  I think I agree with Keith on the eye.  It seems disconcertingly intense in the image.  Especially since they are normally a rather pale and anemic yellow (I've given plenty of themn a touch of extra saturation).  I love the perch.

Elizabeth,

I am with Keith and Dennis meaning that the black & white works very good but the yellow eye does not fit well in this gallery. I think this is a good candidate for the "Photo Art" gallery, especially because the image has a slight pixelation or noise that lets the black & white look more artistical. If you allow I can move the image to that gallery. Actually you can do that as well by edinting the post and select another gallery enlightened

Let me know about your decision.

Hi Elizabeth,

Nice details in eagle and perch and I would go either in all color or all black and white.  I might be leaning towards a black & white   version of this eagle image.........................Jim

Elizabeth:

I don't see any reason to move this to another gallery.  It is fine in Avian.  Hopefully you've accepted the feedback in the spirit it was intended.... our opinions.  Keep posting!!

Elizabeth, this is a classic pose of this majestic Eagle. I like the gnarly perch and the clean background, they make a strong composition. I like the black and white conversion but not crazy about the colored eye. Otherwise, well done!

Impressive bird and pose. I agree that pure B&W would be even stronger. A fine image nevertheless! Cheers, Hans

Thank you all for the comments and suggestions.
I'm having problems reposting with the ability to view between the two images.  Any helpful suggestions about reposting?
