Red Barn in Snow wc717

This is an old barn that I have been driving past for many years now. The farm house was just off to the right of the barn but that is gone now. The barn still looks to be in good shape and I think it would be fun to redo it into a home. Of course if it was still being used as a barn that would be pretty cool too, but it is not. Maybe a nice photography studio? cool
When I shot this image there was a beautiful fresh coating of snow and the early morning light was especially nice.
Large version included for best look.
Canon 5D2, 24-105L @105mm, ISO 200, F/14 and 1/40 sec.

Beautiful rich, red color amidst all that white snow in the morning light. Sure looks chilly! But also rather idyllic and would make a great photography studio with a good heater. Gorgeous!

Classic image, Nick. Certainly is a good looking barn and setting, and it would make an amazing rehab project for something and someone.

I love the color contrast in this scene and the sharp details, Nick!  The centered subject is usually a no-no but in this case I think it works very well because it really puts the focus on the barn.  The exposure is very good and the colors are excellent.  Great job with the white balance!  Nice choice for the challenge too.

Nick, that red barn sure pops against the snowy surroundings.  It's a lovely scene, with the soft light, all of the snow and the hint of blue in the sky.  While the silo looks to have seen better days, the barn looks well maintained.

The color really stands out well in the detail view.  This barn could be just about anywhere with snow in the US.  A peaceful scene.
And well done.

This barn does look to be in amazingly good shape.  We have one around here with folks living in it that's half fallen down.  A beautiful pastoral winter scene.

Many thanks to all of you for your thoughts on this. I really appreciate the comments. This barn is about 10 miles from my home and I see it often, but on this morning I think it was the best I have ever seen it. Thanks, Nick

What a peaceful winter image. I like the way the tree on the right sort of acts as a partial frame for the barn.
