Brown Creeper

Canon 1D-X, 500mm f4 x 1.4 TC, handheld
f13, 1/400, ISO1600

This is the proper orientation; the Creeper was hanging upside down from a large branch. The bird was exceptionally cooperative, but the light was difficult and most of the background was ugly. I like the shot because the bird has a small prize. f13 because this tight the depth of field of the big glass is measured in millimeters.

70% of full frame. There are a lot of adjustments. The tree is darkened; the bird is very slightly brightened. Noise reduction to the background; slight noise reduction using DFine2 to the bird itself, not something I usually do. I'd like to have the bird brighter, but it wasn't in the field and I'm reluctant to push it.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Neat composition - I love the upside-down nature of this.

Your post processing looks good in both versions. But too bad fill flash wasn't available for this.

Nice one, Jim.  Looks like it found a little pupa case or egg sac.  Your processing looks good, particularly in the larger image.
