That's some serious red! I like the feeling of depth especially in the large version.

I like the position you caught the cardinal in, looks sassy!  Also think the light foliage sets off the red bird very well, and the BG works fine.  Thanks for sharing.

Excellent, Dennis, the composition is served well by this elongated crop. The blend of rich red tones, green and black is particularly captivating. The jaunty pose is yet another plus which adds a sense of movement to this fine take.

Beauty, Dennis! The muted greens and bright red work well together.  The attitude of the bird and the head turn are excellent, as is the exposure and focue. Really well done!

Very nice in detailed view Dennis.  The colors contrast between the reds and the yellows makes this work very well.  A fun pose.

A very fine Cardinal shot, Dennis. Very good management of those easily-blown reds. The layers in the field give it a strong sense of depth, and the exposure was spot-on, showing detail even in the blacks. Well done.

Hi Dennis,

I like the composition with the branches extending across the frame in diagonal fashion.  Cardinals have been an enigma for me--never on an ideal perch and usually perched with head concealed.  This one you caught at the right time-everything fits togetherdevil....................................Jim

Sweet pose with great detail in the Cardinal. The nice colors compliment each other well. The reds look very natural, sometimes hard to achieve. Nice work.
