A good days work

We stayed with this female Cheetah and her two cubs all day ( 9 hours), and it was hot!
Eventually Mum brought down a large male Impalla, twice her size!
Here they enjoy the fruits of her labour and patience,

Wow, really nice portrait of the couple dining together Ken, and you worked hard to get it.  Didn't require a long zoom either, so I'm guessing you were in some kind of safari vehicle.  Nice lighting and detail and I like how one is keeping watch while the mate is eating.  Is that a bird in the background waiting for scraps sad?  Must have many more good ones from that day.

Jim,
Thanks very much, the smaller one  is actually a youngster (around 1 year) the one at the rear is Mum.
Staying out all  day in the very hot sun in an open vehicle with no roof  is worthwhile when you end up with the excitement of the chase even if the image opportunity is limited.
Where are you seeing a bird?

Ken, this is a good look at these two, with lots of details in the two cats.  The combination of alert youngster and munching mom works well also.

Great capture with nice detail and poses, Ken!  On my monitor it seems to have just a bit of a cyan cast which tells me the shot was probably taken near the end of those 9 hours.
