GSD after a Rain

I've been there several times, but never in a "rainy season", if there is such a thing.  I've been fascinated by the constant changing of the light and atmosphere that render the dunes in different ways, and on this visit last May I got it in the wet season.  And contrary to my previous visits, I got some nice cloud cover, which in shooting I emphasized with the framing (full frame).  In post a did a slight boost in shadow/highlight a slight bump in saturation.

I love dune images, Bill, and this one is very nice.  I really like the wet look and the intrinsic texture of wet sand.  I also like the inclusion of the strip of desert greenery in the fore.  Really nice subtle saturation and a beautiful steely sky, how can you go wrong? Very cool.

Bill: One of my favorite places on the planet captured in very nice conditions. I'll echo Gary's comments. I do like it a bit better with about 40% of the sky cropped away. 2 thumbs up. >=))>

Color and soft contrast are just great - I wouldn't touch a thing.

Bill,

A classic GSD scene, but captured with a different look and conditions which makes this one somewhat unique.  I like the contrast and saturation as you've processed and presented.  Initially I thought about suggesting even more contrast, perhaps even a drop in exposure, but I think the more subtle contrast and colors fit the light and scene just right.
