One of the best male red wolves I have seen. Photo of Bruiser was taken at the Miller Park Zoo.

Hi John,
Bruiser is a big boy that you photographed while he was approaching you cautiously. You may want to try to tone down some of the very bright areas in the image. Other than that--he's a nice looking wolf..............................Jim

Wow - you don't see many of this species and he is a fine-looking individual. Love the classic head-down analyzing gaze he is giving you.

He is definitely checking you out, John. The pose, approaching cautiously while looking around that log looks great. You've got good details in him and the foreground. I too think taming those blown highlight would be good, but given the lighting, a reduced exposure would have created blocked up shadows, so this is looking like a job for Harley Goldman's 15% clone method. It can be found under "Resources" menu on the California Nature Photographers (CANP) Forum.

Definitely looks like you were being stalked, John! A nice specimen and a good capture. Some pretty harsh lighting conditions so I can understand the blown highlights but I think I would have exposed for the highlights and ramped up the bottom of the curve to compensate for the deep shadows.
