This photo is just feet away from a similar image I posted int his gallery months ago and was inspired by my wife who pointed out the potential.  I was a bit rushed and really need to play with double exposures as I think it would be better if everything was in focus, but I think this is a good starting point.  Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated

Nice framing Luke. I'm not sure if having the frame in perfect focus would be better. The out of focus frame seems to get your attention to the main subject better. A shorter exposure for the ocean would have been better though because the beach is in focus and the bottom beneath the water is not. The image has a nice sense of perspective with all those lines going out.

Luke, an interesting photographic possibility and a good eye to catch it on your wife's part.  I agree with Igor's assessment of leaving the keyhole slightly OOF but bringing the scene beyond fully in focus front-to-rear.

Cool shot!

Luke, I really like the view and the idea here. Just some more work on the overall DOF could net even better possible outcomes. I would think shooting digital that focus stacking would be the best approach to obtain what you might want in the end. Good luck on future attempts no matter how you plan to try.

Luke,
I love the comments we get in NPN.  We have such different perspectives.  I love the fact that the keyhole is OOF, much of the posts and structure are in focus but fade out of focus into the distance.  It is wonderfully evocative just the way it is.  Love the composition and how my eye travels into the frame and dreamland beyond.  Great work.  The other comments likely lead to composition equally wonderful, and this is evidence that there is more than one way to take and process a great shot.  I really like your transition into landscape and ocean shots.
