Upstream to Worthington

On the river's edge, looking upstream toward the Worthington Glacier.  A cold day but the sunshine had a warm look to it.  As you can see, taking this shot as close to the middle of the stream as possible was a little dicey but worth it.  Thanks to a rotating LCD Display I was able to hold the camera at arms length with one hand and still compose the shot.

Sony DSC-R1, ISO-160, f/11.0, 1/320, hand held.

Gary,
I really like your composition with the mostly-frozen stream flowing to the bottom left and the snowy peaks in the background. Looks so very cold.

Gary: Wonderful scene and a really nice capture. I especially like the light on the mountains. Many kudos.>=))>

Beautiful scene...and great job with the whites.  I like the crystals and "see through" ice at the edge of the watercryingYou need to see the larger photo to really appreciate it.

Yes, Gary, very nicely composed with the open water leading into the distance.  (I image you were channeling "To Build a Fire" as you stood on the icy banks.)  The lighting works very well in helping to lead the eyes from the foreground around the bend to the peaks in the distance.

What a beautiful scene, and the textures in the foreground of snow and ice enhance it greatly. Glad you didn't fall in, and the comp you got looks great. Sure does look cold, too. Really gorgeous.
