Merced River and Trees

I thought I would post a re-work of Yosemite Details #4 from last November. In a repost there, I had cropped out most of the foreground along with changes to color. In this image, I decided to keep the river, and made some minor adjustments to color; especially in the cascade which I feel was too blue/cyan in the original.

Nikon D-7100
Nikkor DX 16-85mm
TK's Luminosity and Saturation Painting Masks
Cropped a bit from the bottom and right side.

Please see the larger version. Thanks!

Your thoughts are always appreciated. cool

Hi Preston,

I have no nits--I like the lighter trees that fill the frame, but are not clipped from the top edge of the frame.  The stream looks pretty good toodevil.............................Jim

Preston,
Sweet, very pleasing image. I like the understated, subtle color palette. Comp also works very well, simplifying and making order out of what could have been chaos.

Preston,

Great job on the fine tuning!  I really like the warmth of this and the retaining of the water at the bottom works very well.

A certain improvement!

Preston, This looks really nice. This reworked file works much better for me and I do enjoy the added warmth it now has. A great looking scene that I like a lot and I love the stream across the bottom.

This one is the winner for me, Preston. I like the added warmth to the scene and the details are exquisite; particularly in the larger version. Nice vision with this one.

Massive improvement over the original as far as color management goes, the primary beneficiary (in my eyes) is the extra yellows that pop out the grass and leaves.  Beautiful image!

This looks great, Preston.  A gentle, inviting, restful scene.  I like the river's flow, the glow in the grass, and how the tips of the Aspen reach almost to the top of the frame.

I think I would have put the crop somewhere in between this and the cropped repo from your other post. Minor nit though, the colors are very pleasing and the scene looks gorgeous!

Hi Preston,

This image looks wonderful, and your vision in  creating the composition is very well captured. The re-work really brings the image to life. I really enjoy how you captured a complicated scene and gave it a beautiful story with your presentation.

I am really digging this image Preston, great stuff.

The warmer new version is a lot better! I think this is a fine "detail" shot with understated, but beautiful colors.
