This one is from about a year ago at Falcon State Park in Texas.  It was quite a common bird there, but I liked it.

7D2, 500mm f/4 ISL + 1.4TC, Jobu gimbal on RRS legs, f/5.6, 1/1600, iso 800, aperture priority, center-weighted average metering.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped from the left to a 4x5 format.  Taken at 12:54 PM under cloudy skies.

Comments and criticisms are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks,

Excellent as posted. Nice pose; good setting.

Lots of these here in AZ, and I love the clean look of the plumage on these sparrows.

Looks like a nice species indeed, abundant or not. Setting shows a nice part if the habitat and the bird is positioned nicely ! Cheers, Hans

A nice open look in good habitat Dennis, if it were mine I would crop a bit more from the left and the top. devil

Great looking bird, positiopned perfectly and I just love habit shots. They don't always come off but this one has.
Can't decide about a bit off the top. Maybe not - would loose some of the nice habitat !!
