Monkey sulk

I loved my time in Japan, especially when enjoying the onsens (hot spring water thermal baths).  I would travel high and low around all over Japan to locate the perfect soak.  While entertaining this hobby at an onsen town, I thought I would check out how the cousins enjoy this.  After a brisk walk braving the cold and the snow, I arrived at this onsen to find a congregation of macaques happily enjoying the relaxing warm water while they laughed at the freezing humans outside.

That is, except for the monkey on the left.  Some people are just never happy.  He reminds me of my little brother.

Comments and critique very welcome.  Especially regarding post processing as I'm quite new to this forum and photo critique thing!

Christopher: great capture of the expression. This one definitely brings a smile. I might have gone for more dof to ensure all the macaques were in focus. It's hard to tell if the middle and left most are sharp as the image is small. Remember that you can post an image up to 1MB. All in all it's very enjoyable image. Richard

My initial reaction is that all three are showing us a sulking attitude.  I feel this is a strong composition and I like the depth of field enhanced by steam and weather around the pool.  My only technical nit would be that it feels to me like the saturation is a little strong with the reds which I feel draws attention away from appreciating other details.

A neat shot Christopher, great poses you captured and I like the steam rising in the background.  You can post an optional large image up to 1600 pixels long, this image is fairly small and it would be nice to appreciate the details better. devil

Thank you all for your feedback.  I got a bit confused by the two options for uploading.

Revised image attached and I've toned down the red a bit.

Please let me know if you have any further comments.  Thank you again!
