This didn't have a lot of color in it since it was taken well past autumn into winter, but I liked the way it turned out in B&W. Hope you do too.

Well seen gentle intimate landscape Bill. The cuboidal lines are a bit of a novelty in landscape photography but work quite well here.

This is a very effective composition. Intriguing patterns created by the roots. Well seen.

Yep, I like it! I do think a bit more contrast couldn't hurt though, but that's my only nit.

Bill,
Love this kinda stuff! Well seen indeed and like we often comment here, these are the little scenes that so often most folks just walk on by and never take notice. Sure glad you did here.
The only suggestion I have would be a burn down of the ridge line of the long root on the right, and maybe a few other spots. Otherwise, I'm enjoying exploring all the detail here and the arrangement of the roots really holds the whole image together.

Bill, This looks great. Nice eye finding this one and then coming up with this composition..which is excellent! I like the b&w conversion and wonderful details. Works perfect for me as it is and i quite enjoy looking at this.

Love your conversion and details. The root arrangement and leaves looks so well balanced. Did you use a simple conversion in PS or another software? There is a wet silvery feel /look to it that I would love to try on some of my BW's. One of those scenes that 99% of us would walk by or over but you made it sing. Excellent job!

Excellent image and construction of an otherwise overlooked scene. Beautiful. I might consider pulling down the midtones a little bit, but minor stuff. Well seen and done. Very John Sexton. Fine photography!!!!
