I just returned from 5 days in the Eastern Sierra. The light was rather dull with boring blue skies but I was able to isolate some of the emerging foliage in the minutes after sunrise in back/side lighting and come up with a few images that I like. Appreciate any comments critiques.

Spring near Bishop (I think) at its best!  Beautiful layers and tones, textures. I might trying a slight crop off the top to further emphasize the horizontal patterns in the vegetation.  Pretty perfect though, not sure if a crop would really improve anything. Terrific sharpness.

The blending of layers of vegetation and soft colors works well.  Nicely seen,

Gorgeous lines  you got here, with some excellent colors mixed up. As usual, I am not a big fan of the Orton effect which I seem to detect here in the grasses and trees, but this is one great photo. The grasses and trees look great against the blueish background.

A very pleasing multi textured, multi layered image with a variety of hues, it presents an abstract feel that I like a lot.

The layers of texture and color here are wonderful, Dave. The light is just superb. You might consider pulling some cyan out, especially in the background hillside. The balance of light and shapes work very well. Nice job!

When I first looked at this image I really liked it but I also noticed the cyan in the background. And this was right after someone had made a comment about the cyan on my image of Moose Pass in Alaska. So I have a question about color casts. I think the cyan is really there. It tends to be an atmospheric effect. Some people seem to be very sensitive to it and think it should all be eliminated. I don't know if it should or not. Not everybody made this comment and frankly, it doesn't bother me either in your image or mine.  Is this just a preference?  Your images very nicely layered with triangles of grasses of different colors followed by a layer of trees and topped off by the background of Sage. I think it works well together especially when seen large.  And the large detailed image definitely shows much less cyan saturation.

Stunning layers and lines that move the eye back so nicely and you cannot beat that gorgeous light.  The blues of the background in shadow really adds to the foreground glow.  One sweet image.

Beautiful image Dave. I've seen other images very much like this, but I think you've done it particularly well.

This is really pretty Dave.  I love the layers of color and shadows and, while it's not in the main subject, I love the background.  I want to be back there walking around exploring.  Well constructed with the varying degrees of slight diagonals in the FG too.
