Sword Fern along the Merced River, Yosemite Valley. I found this in my archive and worked it up using a combination of Nik filters and TK's Luminosity masks.

Here is a wider image of the same area.

I am really enjoying this beautiful, intimate forest scene Preston.  Lovely color, symmetry, and a perfect reflection.  What more can you ask for?

You may never have to leave the house, Preston.  If you keep finding these gems what's the sense.  Beautiful symmetrical reflection image packed with interest and color. Wonderful.

Preston, your processing does a great job of letting that clump of ferns be the star of a fine show.  The fallen leaves and the near perfect reflection make a lovely view.  This will look great printed large and hanging on a wall.

Love it Preston.  The fallen leaves are so appealing as is the rich greens of the moss.  My only nit is the reflection greens are lighter than the original which looks odd.

Thank you all for your comments!

Bill: Good catch. I burned down the reflection in this re-posted version.

Nice, Preston. Much better job on the processing than the prior wider version.

Incredible, delicate image, Preston.  The beauty of the fern and those leaves and the moss, the rocks, all are so captivating.  And then the reflection that takes this to an entirely new level.  Only thought I have is if the reflection fern needs to be burned slightly as it appears a bit bright than that above, and also has lost some of the warmer tones of the upper fern (which may be from the water).  A very minor issue though.
It had to have crossed your mind how great this would have looked on the ground glass of your view camera.  enlightened  Fantastic image.

Gorgeous little reflection composition here. The repost is very much better IMO. Not just because of the fern reflection but for me more for the distracting foliage being reflected at the bottom part of the image which also seems to have been darkened.

Just a lovely and beautiful little river scenic Preston.  Processing looks great, although I must admit the repost is a marked improvement.  I think the color/sat would naturally be muted in the reflection, but the slightly darker adjustment in the reflection is the perfect touch.

If this one isn't printed and in your portfolio book - it needs to be.

Your image is beautifully processed and the repost is an improvement over what already looked great. The reflection is amazing. I wanted to point out that those are not sword ferns however. Sword ferns have a waxy looking surface that reflect light. I see them in redwood groves along California's coast.

Gorgeous image! The yellows and greens are exquisite. Everything about the image is extremely well crafted from comp to beautiful processing. I think the repost with slightly darker/richer reflection hits the mark. Fantastic work.

This is wonderful. I like this comp very much and just love the feel it has. One of those images I can enjoy looking at for some time. Repost is excellent! devil
