I was in Yosemite last weekend and Sat. morning, was treated to the best fog show in the meadows I have ever seen. New waves of fog kept drifting through. I will post other fog images in the next couple of weeks, probably to the point people will get sick of them. sad

Oh wow that's some stunning light and a really effective conversion. The asymmetry bothers me a bit, I would personally crop a bit off the right to keep the trinity symmetrical.

Yes, it is quite the light show, Harley.  The layers of fog and the long shadow/sunlight areas look great.  At first, I too was bothered by the asymmetry, but as I view the larger version more, I'm finding that is works well with the lighting and adds a nice bit of tension.

Lovely lovely mood, Harley! I'm a bit thrown off by the negative space on the right. I'd crop it to bring some symmetry. Otherwise, stunning image!

Mr. H., this is wonderful! The tones and the composition look real nice. The cloud and the highlights on the pines puts this over the top, in my opinion. Excellent!

As they say these days - 'sweet'. This is really excellent, Harley. Like Gary's Utah image, this is more than it is. That is the image says more than 3 trees with fog. At least to me it does. I like everything about it. That the 3 trees are off center. That there's a smaller tree peaking between the bigger ones and breaking up the pattern. The sharp grass vs the soft fog. I can break all this down but the overall impact is something that's felt but can't be described. It's elegant, inspiring, and uplifting. My only thought was how this would look with a more extended landscape, extending left and right, to accentuate the horizontals. Cropping doesn't seem to improve. If there is anything on the sides I would be interested in that. But, I'm not convinced that would help because this is really well put together. I'm looking forward to the other ones. I'm assuming that this is Tuolumne meadows? Although that road is probably still closed.

That sure is some excellent mist and lighting! Don't change a thing, this is excellent. So much to like about this one. Looking forward to the other mist photos.

Don't think I'm going to get sick of any of these, Harley.  I like the asymmetrical presentation.  Just a gorgeous b/w image. Love it and can't wait to see the rest.

Outstanding Harley!  Perhaps your best, or one of your bests from Leidig.  Asymmetry doesn't even come to mind for me. The length of the shadows, light, fog, etc. etc. for me demands the longer horizontal format and I wouldn't crop this.  Despite the shadow of the immediate foreground, the grasses upfront and throughout the scene really add depth to this; while the light and fog provide all the drama and mood.

Not even a nit, but I suppose you could play with some selective dodging of the bank of suspended fog as it heads across the frame. Not sure if that makes sense.

Wonderful image Mr. H.

it looks like the trees are marching out of the fog and the light in the foreground the light hitting the fogThis is really cool. Be sure you save some of the fog images for the upcoming weekly challenge. Regardless I really like this one.  It looks like the trees are marching out of the fog into the layered light of the foreground. It is very impressive image.  The light hitting the fog and the shapes it creates among the nebulous formations of the fog itself is very interesting. This is very well seen.

Some outstanding lighting! Nothing better than fog and intermittant sunlight breaking through. A beautiful, simple composition. Curious to see the color version.
