Cliff Swallow Over Lake

What -- Another flying swallow?  At least this is a species I have not posted before.  I like including the water and cattails, which is good because this bird was so far away that even this image is just 19% of full frame.  There were just a few Cliff Swallows, compared to tree swallows and barn swallows here, so this is about the only decent shot I have of this species.

Canon 7D Mark II; Sigma 150-600 C @ 421 mm.
1/2000 sec. @ f/8; ISO 640
19% of frame
Hand-held from canoe

I like it, Wayne.  Excellent detail for the crop and size in the frame.  I like the dof you had for this one a lot.

Wayne, I love the shots you have been posting on swallows. I have tried over the last few weeks to get a decent shot and have totally failed. You have captured several great shots on the wing here.

Nicely done.

Hats Off to you!  I really like this swallow image.  Great detail, sharpness, color and position of the wings.  Also the composition is right on IMHO.  Now I have to keep trying for swallow flight shots since you have shown it can be done!  Thanks for sharing.
