This is an image I made during my several business trips to Tucson, Arizona. A college recommended that I should visit the "Sonoran Dessert Museum" and actually I spent much more time there as I would normally do in a kind of zoo.

This guy gave a me few seconds for a portrait and I was hoping to get him at that position. As one can see the light conditions have been very difficult, especially considering that the image was made on film. Actually it turned out a bit dark, since I decide to avoid over exposured areas at the background top right branches and at the right ear.

Fortunately I was able to compensate that after having scanned the image.

NIKON F801s, NIKOOR ED 4/300, F5,6, 1/500s, handheld, Sensia 100

Scanned with Nikon Cooolscan 5000ED, Photoshop retouch as described above

That one eye is well lighted and both have nice catch lights makes this quite a successful image, effectively conveying a certain elusiveness but still showing us detail.  Good one.

Great expression you captured.  I like the colors and how the light and shadows play on its face.  Thanks for sharing.

Looks good Cay.  The shadows were handled perfectly.  I like your digital edits of film photos.  The results are well worth the effort...................Jim
