Pallas Cat

Pallas cats are small felines from Asia.  Fierce acting little cats with attitude.  This male, at the Miller Park Zoo was sleeping soundly when a fox squirrel appeared right outside it's exhibit.  The cat immediately went into a hunting mode, stealthy moving towards the squirrel, who remained right outside the wire, until it was hidden in a log watching the squirrels movement.  This is when I took this photo.  The squirrel realizing just how close it was to the waiting cat quickly changed directions and left the area.

John,

in my opinion a very strong portrait that shows a typical feline stare. A pity that you have had a branch, or fence, crossing at the front.
