Spent a long weekend in Big Sur recently. At first I was not sure of the comp. But it's growing on me.
D800,

Thanks,
Chris

Very nice wave action via SS, Chris, and the sunset is perfectly handled. I'm not sure however about the inclusion of the small bit of green FG as there is not enough of it there to ground the scene and the color is a big departure from the rest of the image's palette. A crop up then from the bottom would still include the stuff that makes the image special. I might also slightly darken the cliff face on the left to match the light on the similar cliffs farther into the scene (or vice-versa.)
Still a very evocative Big Sur image. Garrapata?

Yeah, thanks!
I probably should have cropped it. I was having a hard time getting the comp I wanted without including the greens. Once I had it edited, I was wishing I included more of it. I see what you mean about the color departure though too. I will post a crop later.

Yeah Chris, I agree with Dave, that the fore green looks a little out of place. Other than that super image.

This is beautiful Chris; especially considering the cloudless sky. I love the color variation between the near and far, and the water is superb. My only thought on the comp is I'd like more or none of the green vegetation in the corner, as noted above. You could probably crop a little and clone the rest.

The more I looked at the green, the more I think it should stay in. It adds a bit of interest and it is natural.
The SS is really nice and dreamy...

Beautiful image, Chris! I like the composition overall, but find myself wanting more of the green vegetation in the lower left hand corner or none at all. It is a tough call though as cropping it out would mean losing some of the lighter contrasting surf in the lower right side of the frame and I wouldn't suggest that because of its importance to the composition. If you have a wider view that would be better, but I don't think I would crop out the vegetation (just food for thought ).
EDIT: Now that I have read the other comments I see that others noted the same issue with the vegetation. Given what you noted about this, I think this is the best compromise because I do think the contrasting surf in the lower right hand side of the frame is vital to the composition.

I finally am able to see this on a large monitor and appreciate the large version to it's fullest. Aside from everything else the shutter speed is right on. It gives a sense of movement to the water and provides an overall romantic painterly look to the scene. I am strongly opposed to removing the green ledge from the bottom as that would noticeably weaken the composition. Actually I would desaturate those greens a tad and perhaps drop their luminosity. Well done.

I like the hint of sun that is visible in the distance, but the main attraction here are the wave patterns/colors in the lrc. They are magnificent! Because of that, I am not sure about cropping the greens out, because you would also lose the nice waves. The slightly misty air adds some nice atmosphere. Beautiful!

Hey Chris,
I know that place. A favorite spot for me. I like the comp and the gradation of UL to BR.
