Wet Woodland Scene

Shot in an area of wet woodland on the banks of the River Mersey.  It's an unkempt but eventful landscape, with wet-loving trees accompanied by species that have colonised the area, sometimes failing to sustain their growth and leaving dead branches in the muddy pools; hawthorns flowering in the Spring add their touches of white.   I've kept this a little soft, as that seemed best to suit this particular scene.

Looks very lush, Ian.  Your emphasis of the multi-trunked tree on the left works well and keeping this from getting too busy.  The warmth of the various greens combines with the subtle softness to create a nicely dreamy scene.

Definitely says wet woodland to me, Ian, but that being said I'm finding it difficult to find an anchor point in the scene from which my eyes can start and then wander. I would have been drawn to exploring the hawthorn flowers in front of that tree on the right.

This captures the feeling of spring very nicely, love the fresh greens all around. The comp is certainly working for me!

This subtle spring scene works rather nicely, Ian. It is a bit busy, but I think the soft lighting helps showcase the details in the scene. My only suggestion would be to tone down those branches in the LLC just a bit as they pull my eye in that direction.

Captures the earthy and lush feel of the landscape well. The composition is partially successful for me; the horizontal branch at the bottom seems to disrupt the verticals too much.
