Rufous Hummingbird

Just a simple perched hummingbird, but I liked the pose, the light and the perch (one I attached across the curve of the shepherd's crook to which the feeder is attached).

7D2, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, hand held, f/7.1, 1/250, iso 640, aperture priority, pattern metering, - 1/3 EV.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 12.5 MP before resizing.  Taken at 6:10 am this morning.

Comments and criticisms are always welcome and appreciated.

Thanks,

Dennis, this is great--a very good pose, composition, and light.  I like this a lot.  I do find the bright patches on the upper left and right somewhat distracting, and I think if toned down it would be perfect.  Nicely done!

Excellent image, Dennis. Great pose and light. The perch provides a very interesting element to the image. Comp is very pleasing as well.

This works very well. Wonderful light which I think is the best part of the image. All the technical stuff is very well done but only the early birds who are up in time to catch that morning light get the prize.
