Vesper Sparrow

Canon 1D-X, 500mm f4 x 1.4 TC, handheld
f7.0, 1/1000, ISO200

It's a pretty common species in southwestern Idaho, but not something I had photographed before. They seem to mostly skulk down in the brush and grasses. This one came out in the open for one quick shot in response to my "pishing."

60% of full frame. Adjustment to Brightness, Levels. Very slight selective sharpening of bird.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Looks like the light was a bit harsh, but it was at the angle you needed to get nice even lighting on the bird, Jim.  Nice detail in the Sparrow, and an excellent bg.

Nice job getting it out in the open Jim. I like the gnarly perch and the background is oof enough not to distract from the sparrow. Well done.

Hi Jim,

These are scarce out here in Michigan.  The techs look good and even with the harsh light, you captured him perfectly.....................Jim
