This is another from my trip to Yosemite end of April. It was sure nice to see a LOT of water in the river and the creeks.

Wonderful textures and light in this one, Harley. Love the diagonal lines in the photo in contrast to the strong vertical of the waterfall. What was your shutter speed? Did you have one with a fast shutter speed as well? In any case, excellent image from Yosemite.

This is a cool mixture of elements, Mr Harley. I like the veil of water with the diagonals visible behind. The darkness of the rocks and cliff provide the perfect contrast. Nice.

I agree in Kathy's implication that a faster SS speed could have improved the water somewhat. It gets real wet down there when the water gets cranking. I always come back sopping wet.

Wonderful flow to this image ...no pun intended.
A different and refreshing take on a waterfall image.

I love the diagonals and the sense of motion in the water. For me, something is missing and keeping it from being really captivating. I'm not sure what that missing element is. Maybe the tonal contrast is kind of binary, and that feels too simplistic? Or maybe this would be more compelling in color? Or then again, maybe I just need more coffee today ;-).

That's a fine curtain of water, Harley, and yes, the diagonals in the foreground rocks and in the flow behind the falls contrast well. I'm thinking that bringing up the dark tones just a touch in the wall behind may add a bit more interest in that upper left corner.

The large image shows a nice range of tones. The composition is nice. I would opt for a slightly faster shutter speed and a CCW rotation to make the lines on the back wall and the falling water seem vertical.

Very beautiful, Harley. Comp. works great providing nice tension and strong visual interest between the falls and the rock. In reading through the comments I agree with Mark that it might be worthwhile to lighten the back left wall face slightly to try to coax out a bit more detail. It may be an optical illusion but I also agree on a slight CCW rotation.
