Bald Eagle

Back to Big Beef Creek, I think I'll post a few Eagle shots.  I love the way they can spot an opportunity at a distance, stop in mid air and then make such incredible aerobatic moves to home in on a target.  In this case the Eagle has just locked in and is turning toward its target.  This is a pretty large crop as I wanted to focus on not only the aerobatics, but the intensity of the concentration.

7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600mm, handheld,  f/8, 1/3200, iso 640, manual exposure.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 5.9 MP before resizing for the web.  Taken at 7:54 AM on June 16th.

Your comments and criticisms are most appreciated.

Thanks,

Pretty cool action shot.  I continue to be impressed by the quality of the detail at 600 mm, handheld no less.  Did you use the Sigma dock to tweak the lens?

Hi Allen.  I seem to have gotten a really good copy of this lens and haven't had to do any tweaking thus far.

Looks like he's focused on the target. Nice angle - we don't get to see this very often.

The eagle's look makes this one for me. The intensity is off the charts. Well done.

Very nice capture, Dennis. The heavy crop shows a bit in the larger version but the intensity you got makes the shot.

Very unique angle and pose, Dennis. Your composition goes well with the pose. I can see the intensity in the eagle's eyes.

The thumnail screamed Open ME!.  Love the action captured and the awesome background.  Exposure looks good and plenty sharp.  Well done.

Great shot.  Yes you captured well the expression of the bird and cool and unusual wing configuration.
