Peaking Through

This is an image that I took from Rock Cut along Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park.  This is an iconic spot along Trail Ridge road.  However, on this night, I like how Longs Peak was just barely peaking through the clouds (pun intended sad ).  I also like the way that the soft light really brings out the subtle details in the foreground wildflowers and the lichen on the rock.  I do wish that a little more of the peak was showing through, but moments later it would be completely covered in clouds.

All comments and critiques are welcome.  I am particularly interested in how the color looks to you.  I am having a problem getting the calibration of my monitor dialed in.

50 mm
1/20 sec @ f16
ISO 100

Processing:
RAW Capture
TK's luminosity masks for midtone contrast and bright lights (add contrast to clouds)
Selective luminosity painting to further enhance contrast in clouds
TK's vibrance masks

Nice framing of Longs (although I do wish just a tad more showed). I'm not sure what time of day this was; with that said, I think the color looks pretty realistic.

I thought I recognized the Rock Cut from the thumb.  The framing of Longs works well and the colors look fine on my calibrated monitor.  I also like the details in the clouds.  I don't know how easy or hard it is for you to get back, but this looks to me like a good spot to "work" a view from, where getting lower (to eliminate the distant peaks on the left from the view) or moving to get Longs further right in the frame might be interesting alternatives.

Brain, This isa great looking scene and i especially like the conditions you captured it in. The colors overall look very good to me. As first I thought maybe a bit less cyan and a bit more blue in the sky but after looking at the large version (which is really nice) I think it is probably ok.

Beautiful RMNP image and the layers and depths translate nicely.  I agree with Mark, that the POV, could be adjusted to have less of the ridge line on the right.  The notch loses some of it's impact as it's hard to get separation from the ridge line.  The colors on my monitor look fine to me.
