Nice night time feel to this Dan. The varied light in the sky is interesting. Which side of Hood are you facing Dan?

John, looking North, the light pollution (or cloud reflection) is from Hood River I assume.
Foreground light is from Timberline Lodge.

Yes, Dan, the larger version is a huge improvement both in the visibility of the foreground and in how nicely the stars pop.  A fine image.

Excellent work.  I don't often like the foreground log look, but man does this work!  The light on the downed snags adds a lot,  d the sky is just fabulous.

I like the combination of stars and color in the sky, Dan. Well captured.

Very clean and interesting nite image.  Very nicely done, Dan.  Perhaps some wide angle distortion apparent in the left trees.  Love the natural look sans the light painting.

This is killer, Dan. Really captivating. The trees look a bit tilted (WA distortion?). Anyway that should be easily corrected in PP.

Great night sky, mountains, and tree silhouettes. The slow shutter speed has really made the clouds interesting. The foreground is a bit weak and the logs don't really do enough to improve it. There's also a halo between the land and the sky that stands out in the large version. The blue gradient in the sky is particularly beautiful.

At first look, this is a very nice image for iso 3200.  Small issues only which have been pointed out. Foreground detail is a little muddy. Trees tilting due to wide-angle distortion. But there is a lot to like about this image including the clarity primarily. The sky is amazing and the brown clouds. Did those come from Portland? It is an impressive view nonetheless and I really like the picture despite the little nits.

I'm really glad NPN has the larger image option. The small 720 image often does not quite cut it. This is great viewed large. Awesome sky. The only small nit I have is the yellow-green tint of the foreground light.
