The two boys and what they're up to stand out well. The mixed colors in the reflections and the birds add a fine sense of place and time. I can hear the gulls calling.

This also tells a wonderful story. The oldest brother gets the rod because he's the oldest. The younger brother is envious but all he can do is watch and follow his brother again. If he's lucky the older one will let him cast once or twice. But not too much because the pecking order needs to be maintained.
